An official communique, dated August 23, 2025, instructs all Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities (DEAs) across Punjab to immediately cease this tradition.


The circular states that the Secretary of the School Education Department has personally observed and discouraged the practice. This isn't merely a suggestion but a firm policy shift. The order explicitly commands that "no bouquet shall be presented to the Secretary, School Education Department during his official visits."

The instruction mandates that the funds typically spent on these floral arrangements should be redirected. Instead of purchasing bouquets, schools and districts are now ordered to utilize that same budget for the "welfare and well-being of students."
